If you are in Jaipur and have explored all the amazing sites in the Pink City then you can hire a local transport like cab or tempo traveller and visit the below sites which are just 4-5 hours away from Jaipur.
1. Ajmer and Pushkar
Ajmer and Pushkar are two holy cities in Rajasthan which also attracts many travellers. At Ajmer, we have the famous shrine of Ajmer Sharif, and at Pushkar, the lake & Brahma temple are the main attractions. As per passengers, Pushkar is more attractive as the city always has the presence of western tourists sitting in the rooftop cafe, spread all across the city.
Distance from Jaipur to Ajmer Pushkar is 150 km which is cost like INR 1500 in a cab and if you can hire a 9 seater tempo traveller in Jaipur then it will cost INR 16 per km.
Bundi is one of those hidden gems which most travellers don't even know about. The city has some fantastic sites like Garh Palace. Taragarh fort, Queen Stepwell, 84 pilar cenotaph temple and many cafes in the old part of the city. To reach Bundi from Jaipur you can get a cab or tempo travellers from Jaipur at a good price, & the distance from Jaipur is 240 km which is a 4-hour journey.
3. Jodhpur and Jaisalmer
Jodhpur is 335 km from Jaipur and is the second biggest city of Rajasthan. Jodhpur is famous for its wodden handiocraft work which is expoted all over the world. Tourism wise, Jodhpur has some amazing site. Like Mehrangarh Fort & Umaid Bhawan Palace are two land mark sites which anyone can see from a three story building in Jodhpur. Mehrahgarh Fort has been converted into a musuem, while Umaid Bhawan Palace is a luxury hotel but still some oart of the palace is popened for normal public as a presentation.
And if you can lend two extra days from Jodhpur, you can visit my favorite tourist site Jaisalmer. At Jaisalmer the number one attractions is the Sam sand dunes which is the biggest dune area in India. Here one can enjoy desert safari tours, stay in camp for night & enjoy a musical program at a desert camp. Jaisalmer is 280 km from Jodhpur and it takes 5 hours to reach in a cab.
To get a list of top 10 desert camps in Jaisalmer, contact Chetram Voyages. They are a tour operator firm which offer more than 10 tour packages for Rajasthan from Jaipur & cost of these packages start from INR 20,000 per person.
Agra needs no introduction, and luckily Agra is just 220 km from Jaipur which takes around 3-4 hours to reach. So one can see the famous Taj Mahal in a Day from Agra. Along with this, one can also stop at Chand Baori and Fatehpur Sikri which are at Jaipur-Agra Highway. Moreover you can also catch a train from Jaipur to reach Agra. The only problem with trains is that either you need to confirm them months in advance or one day earlier.
So these are my list of Three best outstations trips from Jaipur. If you have yours, then do share.
