1 package, 12 oz., semisweet chocolate chips or 10 oz semisweet chocolate
1/2 cup, 1 stick, butter
1/2 cp sugar
2 cups light cream
4 eggs, well beaten
1 Tbsp vanilla
8 slices white or egg bread torn into cubes
preheat the oven to 325 degrees. butter and flour a 6 cup baking dish.
combine the chocolate, butter and sugar in a saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until everything is melted together. stir until smooth; set aside to cool. add the cream.
whisk in the eggs and vanilla; fold in the bread. pour into the prepared pan. place the pan in a larger pan and put both in the oven. pour 2 inches of hot water into the larger pan and bake for 40 minutes or until the pudding is firm in the center.
serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped topping... it's great with either!!
