New Jordans 2016, Thus far, the "No Swoosh" Air Jordan 1 Low has only surfaced in subtle, basic colorways that immediately made it a casual favorite. Not falling in line with the trend, fashion label PSNY made a more daring version of its own. The Air Jordan 1 low debuted in 1985 alongside the Air Jordan 1 High as the first low-top signature sneaker developed by Nike for Michael Jordan. The Peter Moore designed sneaker featured a simple Nike Dunk inspired design that incorporated the Nike Swoosh and the Jordan Wings logo and featured Nike Air. The Air Jordan 1 Low originally released in several colorways that mirrored the High releases which included Bulls inspired and metallic colorways. Opting out of New York Fashion Week and showcasing their new collection independently today, the PSNY x Air Jordan 1 Low No Swoosh comes outfitted in black tumbled leather with vibrant accents at the tongue and outer. A cream midsole fills the median while PSNY branding appears embossed at the heel.
Again collaborating with Jordans 2017 following the monumental success of their Air Jordan 12 and Jordan Horizon releases, menswear purveyors Public School reveal a new Air Jordan 1 Low No Swoosh prior to their runway show earlier today. With minimal branding, this new AJ1 brings elevated quality and style to the iconic basketball silhouette. The premium upper is comprised of full-grain tumbled leather, while a soft lining wraps the interior collar and tongue. Details are subtle with Nike Air embossed on the tongue and classic Jordan “Wings” logo on the heel in monochromatic fashion. Jumpman engraved metal lace tips finish off each pair, Seen here on the feet of Jordan Brand's Frank Cooker, the PSNY x Air Jordan 1 "No Swoosh" combines a black leather upper with hits of vibrant yellow on the logos and outsole. Gold lace tips provide an extra touch of luxury.
Much was made of this year's update to New Air Jordan Shoes, a summer iteration of the sneaker that chose to shed the iconic "Swoosh" as easily as a bro shedding his tank-top for a game of beach volleyball. It arrived in three separate colorways, black, olive and pink, but that simply wasn't enough. Nike has unveiled another version of the sneaker, this one in a classic "Triple White." Naturally, this means that the sneaker is a pure, clean white in every ounce, from heel to toe. Like the previous versions of the Swooshless wonder, the "Triple White" is wrought from a textured leather material, with a soft lining on the collar and tongue. And though the Swoosh is no where to be found, the Nike Air branding is embossed on the tongue with the Jordan Wings stitched onto the heel.
