no baking required...  makes 2 dozen bars


1 cup sugar

1 cup firmly packed brown sugar

1 1/2 cups light corn syrup

1 cup crunchy peanut butter

2 cups cornflakes

1 cup peanuts, roasted and salted


1 package, 12 oz., semisweet chocolate chips

2 Tbsp, 1/4 stick, butter

4 Tbsp creamy peanut butter


grease a 9 x 13 inch baking pan.

cook the sugars and syrup together over low heat, stirring constantly.  boil for 1 minute.  stir in the peanut butter and stir until melted.  fold in the cornflakes and peanuts and pour into the prepared pan.  smooth to fill the pan evenly.

melt all the topping ingredients together over low heat and pour over the bar mixture.  cool and cut into 1 x 2 inch bars.
