Crates are special item drops introduced in Patch v1.22 in Rocket League. They contain exclusive Wheels, Decals, Rocket Trails, and Import Battle-Cars.

Crates are generally unlocked with Rocket League Keys, which are available for sale in the “Manage Inventory” or “Crate Unlock” menus. Unlocking the crate will typically disclose a random exclusive item. And there you can have a chance of gaining a certified alternative of said item.

Each crate contains a distinct series of items that can be classified as Rare, Very Rare, Exotic, Import, and Black Market.

Rocket League comprises of cosmetic items, including fancy new cars to shiny, rare decals. The most fundamental of these items are unlocked via playing the game, as a reward at the end of matches. Rarer versions, although, are found in crates.

So how do you find crates? As said earlier, they are typically dropped as random items when the match finishes. This however happens rarely, so don't feel discouraged if you don't find many of them. Once you find one, remember that an exclusive car, decal, wheel, or rocket trail may be waiting inside.

To open these crates, you will need keys. Pretty much like the case system in CS:GO, the keys required to open the random crate drops can only be purchased. You can shop them online one at a time, or in sets of 5, 10, and 20, from the online marketplace relevant to your platform. Move ahead to the Crate Unlock or Manage Inventory menus to head over directly to the purchase options.

Remember that you could not sell Rocket Leagues Trades for seven days after the purchase.
