You may be one of the almost 6.8 million viewers who saw the Older Ladies video on YouTube but you may not know the woman behind it. Donnalou Stevens, quite frankly, made her video go viral single-handedly. And I am one of the many midlife/blogger/women that she reached out to via Twitter and felt passionate enough to share it with everyone I knew!
Her story really resonated with me. Not only are we both Baby Boomers but her message em-powered me. Here are a few lines from Older Ladies:
See, I’m no longer desperate. I’ll only have a man,
If he has the smarts to see how hot that I still am.
If you want a younger model, I wish you well, sweet pea.
If you can’t see what it is you have,
Then you ain’t having me.
Listen to my interview with her on Google Hangout and hear a sneak peak of her new song, If I Were Enlightened.
Her latest video, If I Were Enlightened, is due out this month and I won’t be surprised if it goes viral also. She feels that as we age and become more mature, we enter into a spiritual meno-pause, where we realize all that effort we did when we were younger was unnecessary because we were here and okay all along.
Her third video, I’m My Own Valentine, message is, we don’t need anyone else to make us happy. This video will be out at the beginning of the new year.

All the messages in her videos are the same, “There is nothing you need to fix. You are perfect the way you are!” Not really a new revelation but it is how she spreads that message, in a light-hearted way, that really resonates with people.
Her passion for doing what she loves and her journey on getting there is an inspiration. She is funny, insightful and entertaining!
Donnalou is the real deal. Her posts on her Facebook page are heartwarming, humorous and honest. And people clearly resonate with her. The shares, comments and likes are every business page’s dream! How does she do it? By simply being herself! Go check it out and see for yourself!
