Ronald Reagan was born in 1911 in Tampico, Illinois.. He was the 40th president of the United States, governor of California, radio announcer, and actor. Reagan was elected in 1980 and 1984, defeating Jimmy Carter and then Walter Mondale. As one of our most conservative presidents, he promoted “Reganomics” and lowering taxes. He died in 2004. Tom Brokaw was born today in 1940. He was the NBC anchor from 1982 – 2004. Brokaw has written several books, including The Greatest Generation. He was also a member of The Today Show and Meet the Press. Brokaw currently serves as a Special Correspondent for NBC News.
Bob Marley was born in Nine Mile, Jamaica in 1945. He was known as a singer/songwriter of crossover reggae music. Marley has a worldwide audience and produced popular songs such as Three Little Birds and I Shot the Sheriff. Bob Marley died in 1981 after battling cancer since 1977.
Queen Elizabeth II succeeded King George VI to the throne of the United Kingdom in 1952. Her coronation took place the following year in June. She holds several titles including the Head of the Commonwealth of Nations, Supreme Governor of the Church of England, and Defender of the Faith. Elizabeth’s husband is Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh. Queen Elizabeth is now 87 years old.

Larry Moskal began his career as a Social Studies teacher in 1971. He graduated from the University of Buffalo with degrees in history and education. Larry taught Social Studies for the Ken-Ton School system, a suburban school system north of Buffalo, New York until 2005, and then taught and was the Dean of Students at San Miguel High School in Tucson. At Ken-Ton, he pioneered several online courses for high school students. In the 1980s, he spent three years teaching in Colombia, South America and spent four years at Lewiston-Porter High School. He currently is the PowerSchool Administrator for San Miguel accomplishing his work over the Internet.
