I lived on Market Street off 15th and went to West Woodland, James Monroe and Ballard High and graduated in 1963. I loved living in Ballard at that time. I learned to drive a 1939 Chev pick up in Blue Ridge and down the hill and up the hill from Golden Gardens…how about you? I became a professional commercial bus driver at 27 as it paid a mans wage and I had 2 kids that needed insurance and good food to eat…..so all that driving paid off with a career and pension. It wasn’t my choice in careers but had the best benefits at the time..and this was in Bellingham 1973. I left Ballard in 1965 and never lived there again .. but I returned often to visit relatives and have fun and great memories of old times..
