Irene Weinberg was born in Jersey City, New Jersey. When she was five, her family moved to Miami. Expanding her interest in music and business, she played the violin and graduated from the University of Miami where she majored in Music and minored in Business Administration. After college, Irene worked as a Buyer for the Hecht Co. Department Store in Washington, D.C., where she oversaw buying, sales and management. When she moved to the NYC area, Irene became a Corporate Buyer for Macy's New York. As Liaison to suppliers in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea, Irene introduced fashionable clothing lines for Macy's (New York and San Francisco), Bamberger's (New Jersey), and Davison’s (Atlanta). Irene later became the Owner and Head of Operations for two children’s clothing stores in northern New Jersey called THE KIDSHOP. After marrying Saul, her second husband in 1980, Irene helped manage his real estate development business in Northern New Jersey and worked for the Jersey Battered Women’s Service as a public educator and hotline volunteer. Then, Irene’s life changed. In 1997, her husband Saul died next to her in a tragic car accident. The amazing messages Irene received before, during and after the accident contained a Directive from Heaven, opening Irene to a profound spiritual awakening that took her on a healing journey from devastating loss to a renewed sense of inner strength, spiritual wisdom and passion for life. In 2014, Irene published a book about her experiences called THEY SERVE BAGELS IN HEAVEN: one couple's story of love, eternity and the cosmic importance of everyday life.
